Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get started?
Click on the Contact link for information regarding where my office is located, phone number and e-mail information. Appointments can be scheduled via telephone, e-mail or text message. Once you reach out, I will answer any questions you have, direct you to paperwork for our first session and we will find a day and time to book an appointment.
What methods of payment do you accept?
I accept, Health Savings Account (HSA) cards, credit cards, cash and checks. I require a credit card on file in order to book an appointment. Payment is made at the time of the session.
Do you take insurance?
While I am not in-network with any insurance companies and am not on any insurance panels, many insurance plans provide out of network mental health coverage. For clients that wish to use their insurance and have out of network coverage, I can provide monthly statements that they can submit to their insurance companies for partial reimbursement. If you are unsure if you have out-of-network benefits, I recommend calling your insurance company directly. Important questions to ask are, "What are my mental health benefits", "What is my deductible or what is my out-of-pocket max", and "Do you cover session code 90834?".
Additionally, clients are able to use a flexible spending account (FSA) or health savings account (HSA) to help pay for your mental health services.
*Filing a claim is the client’s responsibility & insurance reimbursements are subject to your individual plan and benefits
How does scheduling work?
Please contact me for your initial consultation. I highly recommend that weekly standing appointments be booked on a monthly basis to maintain therapeutic consistency. If you have schedule restraints, I will work with you to schedule your next weekly appointment at the end of each session. It is the client’s responsibility to schedule the next appointment. I will try my best to best accommodate your scheduling needs.
What is your cancelation policy?
If you are not able to keep your appointment, I require a 48-hour notice. If this is not possible, you will be charged the regular session fee. Due to the high demand for sessions, if several sessions of yours have been cancelled in the past, I may not be able to offer you a high priority time slot. Sickness and emergencies are exempted at my discretion.
Am I a candidate for therapy?
Absolutely. I work with all types of people. I am welcoming of all races, genders, sexualities, religions and political parties. If you are a human being you are welcome here. I primarily work with men and women who are high achievers and looking for help in areas such as relational difficulties, stress, anxiety, depression, addictions (eating disorder, substance, work, sex, performance) etc. If you are thinking to yourself “I want more for myself and my life and I don’t know where to start” you’re in the right place.
How long does therapy last?
The length of time varies greatly between clients and what issues they are working through, including how long someone would like to spend in therapy. The goal is to get you to a place where you are stable, empowered and consistently applying tools to be who you were made to be, love that self and others & live a life doing what is authentically you. Many of my clients are interested in creating deep lasting change and work with me individually and in a group setting for 1 year +
How does confidentiality work?
All information shared within our session will be held in the strictest confidence, unless you give written consent for me to share information with a third party. The exceptions to this policy are if I become aware that you are suicidal or homicidal, or if there is any instance of unreported child or elder abuse.
